Clicking on the Help icon in the upper, right corner of the Impulse window opens a menu with a number of options to help you. You can register a product, look up a serial number (request registration information be emailed to you), view Impulse's history of changes, view error log, diagnose network connection problems, read an FAQ, view the current Impulse manual (this documentation) and see an About screen with the version of Impulse & other information.

Register a product
with Impulse...

Opens the registration screen, listing all of the software you purchased through Impulse, including: titles categorized by type, email address associated with the product, serial number and expiration date for subscription based products.

Edit Impulse Account - displays Impulse Login screen, allowing you to "Login with my existing account", "Create new account", "I forgot my account information" (prompts for email address so your information can be sent to you) and "Edit Proxy Settings" (if behind a company proxy server which may prevent you from accessing Impulse via the Internet).
Add Registration - allows you to add the serial number, email address (Impulse will fill this in), Product Category and Product name. Use this iif you purchased the retail boxed version at a store.
Update Registration - select a product to change the serial number (if incorrect), etc..
Renew - displays the Impulse Store for the selected item to purchase a subscription.

Right clicking on a software product displays a menu with these options:

  • Copy serial number to clipboard - is handy for pasting it into a program (i.e. game) that requires the serial number when new. (Option not available if no serial number is listed.)
  • Add new registration - acts the same as the Add Registration button.
  • Update registration information" - same as Update Registration button.
  • Remove registration - deletes the selected product information.
Look up serial number... Enter the email address you used to purchase software through Impulse and Stardock will email you the registration information for those products.

View Impulse's history Displays a list of changes to Impulse in order by version number (newest to oldest).  The version number can be found on the "About Impulse" screen (see below).  Click Close to close window.
View error log Opens a log of errors Impulse has experienced since it was installed.  Newest dates are at the bottom.  Copy & paste this information into an email or web form when communicating with Stardock Support, if you are having problems with Impulse.  Click Close to close window.
Diagnose network connection problems... Runs a test of your connection to the Impulse network, results will be displayed which can Copy results to clipboard to be pasted into an email or web form.  Typically, this is used when communicating with Stardock Support when having problems.
Click Close or Close to close the dialog box.

About Impulse Displays a window with the "Impulse version" on the top, a file listing and copyright information on the bottom.  Click OK or Close to close the About screen.
